What first drew me to the TSURUGI JACKET was its distinctive design. I believe that coolness is an important factor when choosing things. It's rare to find clothing that you like that is also functionally excellent and stress-free to wear, but this jacket has that. That's something I look out for when choosing clothing.
Now that we have actually started wearing them for extended periods of time, we can see why the functionality hidden within their simple design is so appealing.
This is a particular advantage of pullover jackets. The lack of zippers around the abdomen and hem makes them comfortable to wear, and they don't interfere with the waist belt when wearing a backpack, so they're stress-free. The large opening and large, diagonally positioned zipper also completely eliminate the difficulty of putting on and taking off a pullover jacket, which can be a drawback.
The angle of the zipper has been carefully designed so that it can be opened and closed without stress in any situation or field conditions. Furthermore, the double zipper allows you to open and close it from both the top and bottom, which is very convenient, and I also like that the zipper does not directly interfere with the opening.
The ease of movement at the heart of the concept is a major factor in the stress-free feel. There are no unnecessary elements, such as unnecessary pockets, and the hood has been carefully designed to fit well when wearing a helmet, and can also be made to fit compactly. The excellent waterproof properties of the fabric are a common feature of all Teton Bros. outerwear, protecting you in harsh field and weather conditions.
Compared to other jackets, the TSURUGI JACKET is thin, but I feel that this is actually one of its advantages. There are many layering variations available, and in the backcountry, where there is a lot of movement, the thinness of the jacket doesn't make you feel cold and uncomfortable. You can either wear it all day or take it off when your body temperature rises.
In my case, I spend the winter in Niseko from the start of the season in November, and the coldest part of the year in Tateyama from spring until the end of the season in June. The only outerwear I wear throughout these seasons is the TSURUGI JACKET. I wear it almost every day for about seven months of the season, and it's incredibly durable with no issues whatsoever. I'm very happy to have found the perfect jacket for me.
I have a strong personal attachment to the TSURUGI JACKET, and of course, it may be better for business if I can sell as many as possible, but please don't think of wearing it as everyday wear just because it's "cute." You'll probably get a bad rap. To be honest, if you're going to wear the TSURUGI JACKET, I want you to understand its merits and use it thoroughly in the field.
