From winter climbing to winter mountain traverses

These shell pants are designed specifically for alpine and ice climbing, from the materials to the finest details. They offer the stretch and breathability of a softshell, while providing the protection of a 3L shell. Like the jacket, the main material is "Täsmä," a supple 50-denier stretch nylon, while "Täsmä" is used for the knees and hips, areas prone to chafing. The full side zipper allows for easy on and off in any situation, and the slim silhouette prevents flapping even in strong winds. The waistband is designed for use with a harness, and the suspenders are removable. The inner lining, from below the knees to the hem, where crampons are most likely to damage the pants, is made of high-strength nylon with excellent cut resistance.

Maintenance Guide

Although it can be washed in a washing machine, hand washing is recommended.
Use a neutral detergent and do not use fabric softener or bleach (detergents containing fabric softener will reduce the water repellency).
Please close all zippers and Velcro fasteners before washing.
Rinse at least twice
Do not use the spin-dry function of the washing machine as this may damage the fabric or cause damage to the washing machine itself.
Do not tumble dry or dry clean
After washing, immediately reshape the garment and dry it in a well-ventilated, shady place.
If the water-repellent properties have deteriorated, iron the garment using a pressing cloth (low temperature setting).

  • Full side zipper

Both sides have full zippers with double sliders that can be fully opened, allowing you to put on and take off the jacket with crampons attached, making it easy to wear in difficult situations such as limited space or bad weather.
  • suspenders

The suspenders are easily removable, and the front of the waist fastens with Velcro instead of buttons or hooks to prevent interference when wearing a harness.
  • Thigh pocket

Simple zippered pocket on the thigh.
  • crampon guards

These crampon guards are made of high-strength nylon with excellent cut resistance. The steep slope from the hem to below the knees provides ample coverage, where front claws can easily get caught.
  • The hem has snap buttons, allowing you to adjust the hem width in two stages to fit the cuff size of hiking boots, ski touring boots, etc.

Tasm

This next-generation waterproof and breathable material was developed in collaboration with Toray. It features an electrospun ESP membrane, which sprays multiple layers of microscopic polyurethane fibers. The multiple layers of microscopic mesh block moisture while allowing physical ventilation. This makes it "breathable" rather than "breathable." Another distinctive feature is its soft feel, which is hard to believe for a waterproof and breathable material. The outer fabric is made of high-strength nylon, combining durability and lightness. Mechanical stretch provides ample flexibility despite being 100% nylon. The lining is made of a moisture-wicking, quick-drying 20-denier knit backer, combining a supple texture with high functionality, resulting in a well-balanced material with high waterproofness and breathability.

If you wash it yourself, please use a neutral detergent. Never use fabric softener or bleach. When washing, always wash by hand and gently press the garment. Do not use the hand wash cycle on a washing machine.
After washing, rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining detergent. If detergent remains, the water-repellent properties will be reduced. (Surfactants are substances that bind water and oil, so if detergent remains on the fabric, it will significantly reduce the water-repellent properties of the fabric surface.)
The same applies if the surface fabric is clogged with tiny particles of dirt, and particles remaining in the gaps in the fabric often cause a decrease in water repellency and water to seep in. After rinsing, dry in the shade and iron when half-dry, but do so at a low temperature and take care not to unravel the fabric. Do not use a dryer.
