A tough wind shell for climbing

As the name suggests, this is a lightweight wind shell specialized for rock climbing. Compared to Teton Bros.'s standard WIND RIVER HOODY, it is less stretchy and breathable, but its windproof performance and tear strength are dramatically higher. By using high-strength HPPE for the ripstop, we have created a tough piece of clothing that allows you to concentrate on climbing without worrying about abrasion or tearing. The raglan sleeves do not interfere with the movement of the shoulder joints, and the hem does not ride up even when you raise your arms. It is packable with a carabiner loop, so you can put it on and take it off while it is hooked to your harness. You can wear it at a belay point in strong winds on a multi-pitch without it being blown away by the wind.

Use a neutral detergent and do not use fabric softener or bleach.
Please close all zippers before washing
Rinse at least twice.
Do not tumble dry or dry clean
After washing, adjust the shape and dry in a well-ventilated, shady place.
If the water-repellent function has deteriorated, iron the garment (at low temperature) using a pressing cloth.

FEATURES

  • - Chest pocket

    The large chest pocket has mesh on the inside for excellent ventilation.

  • front zipper

    The front zipper has a double slider, making it compatible with harnesses and also functions as ventilation.

  • Hem specifications

    The hem is intentionally loose-fitting to prevent it from riding up while climbing, and short elastic bands on both sides allow it to gently conform to the body.

  • Sam Anchor

    There are thumb anchors on the cuffs. Stretch material is not used as it is likely to rub against rocks.

HPPE

This lightweight fabric is made from 88% recycled nylon and 12% high-strength polyethylene (HPPE) ripstop. While a tear strength of 10 Newtons (N) is generally considered sufficient for 20 denier fabric, this material achieves a tear strength of over 40N. High-strength polyethylene is extremely difficult to manufacture, and while it was clear that its use could result in a high-strength fabric, commercialization proved extremely difficult. This season's new Rock Jacket is the result of Teton Bros.' early adoption of HPPE, a material perfected by a Japanese fabric manufacturer after much trial and error.
