Refuge Jacket
Refuge Jacket
A padded shell created in response to requests from North America
This padded outer shell was developed in response to requests from North America. The Rocky Mountain region in the American Midwest has an inland climate, experiencing freezing temperatures in winter. This simple design is warm and easy to move in, allowing you to stay comfortable in a variety of winter situations, from extremely cold slopes where temperatures can reach -20°C, to night skiing, sledding, and cookouts. Its simple design makes it suitable for city wear as well. The padding is made with Toray's "3DeFX+," which offers excellent heat retention and stretch, and the outer fabric is made with the two-layer "Täsmä." It offers ample warmth while remaining lightweight, flexible, and comfortable.

Maintenance Guide
Use a neutral detergent and do not use fabric softener or bleach (detergents containing fabric softener will reduce the water repellency).
Please close all zippers and Velcro fasteners before washing.
Rinse at least twice
Do not use the spin-dry function of the washing machine as this may damage the fabric or cause damage to the washing machine itself.
Do not tumble dry or dry clean
After washing, immediately reshape the garment and dry it in a well-ventilated, shady place.
If the water-repellent properties have deteriorated, iron the garment using a pressing cloth (low temperature setting).

FEATURES
-
Hood Construction
The hood is compatible with ski helmets and is located on the front of the protective stopper. It can be adjusted vertically and horizontally with a single action. -
Angle Ventilation
The ventilation opening, which extends from the chest to the sides, is inherited from the TB JACKET. It opens and closes easily without resisting the movement of the joints, and provides excellent ventilation. -
Upper arm pocket
There is a pocket on the upper left arm for IC lift tickets, etc. The zipper is positioned slightly inward for easier opening and closing. -
Inner mesh pocket
There is a zippered mesh pocket on the left chest. -
Front flap
The double-slider front zipper is covered with a snap flap, so you can leave the zipper open and fasten the buttons to keep out snow and rain while still allowing ventilation. -
Powder skirt
This is the only TB shell equipped with a powder skirt. It not only prevents snow from getting in, but also keeps the heat from your upper body in. This season's update makes it removable. -
裾
The hem and hood can be adjusted with drawcords. The cohesive stopper is fixed, so you can tighten it by pulling the cord and release it by pressing the button. -
Outer fabric: "Täsmä" 2-layer Fabric logo
Made with a two-layer waterproof and breathable material called "Täsmä." It's flexible and highly breathable, effectively wicking away moisture trapped in the padding. It's only used in the REFUGE series, including the REFUGE JACKET & PANT.

Tasm
This next-generation waterproof and breathable material was developed in collaboration with Toray. It features an electrospun ESP membrane, which sprays multiple layers of microscopic polyurethane fibers. The multiple layers of microscopic mesh block moisture while allowing physical ventilation. This makes it "breathable" rather than "breathable." Another distinctive feature is its soft feel, which is hard to believe for a waterproof and breathable material. The outer fabric is made of high-strength nylon, combining durability and lightness. Mechanical stretch provides ample flexibility despite being 100% nylon. The lining is made of a moisture-wicking, quick-drying 20-denier knit backer, combining a supple texture with high functionality, resulting in a well-balanced material with high waterproofness and breathability.
If you wash it yourself, please use a neutral detergent. Never use fabric softener or bleach. When washing, always wash by hand and gently press the garment. Do not use the hand wash cycle on a washing machine.
After washing, rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining detergent. If detergent remains, the water-repellent properties will be reduced. (Surfactants are substances that bind water and oil, so if detergent remains on the fabric, it will significantly reduce the water-repellent properties of the fabric surface.)
The same applies if the surface fabric is clogged with tiny particles of dirt, and particles remaining in the gaps in the fabric often cause a decrease in water repellency and water to seep in. After rinsing, dry in the shade and iron when half-dry, but do so at a low temperature and take care not to unravel the fabric. Do not use a dryer.
