This new jacket is designed for winter mountain running. It's designed with windproof, breathable, warm, and flexible mobility in mind. The main fabric is a softshell that's highly breathable and stretchy, allowing it to stay dry even when you sweat. The chest area is made of HPPE (high-performance polyethylene) ripstop fabric for wind protection, and the insulation is a mix of PrimaLoft ThermoPlume and aerogel for superior insulation, enhancing core warmth. The slim silhouette allows for unrestricted arm movement, and it features large pockets on both sides that double as ventilation, a zippered pocket on the right wrist for coins or keys, and a watch window on the left wrist. This jacket is perfect not only for running, but also as a mid-layer for cold-weather cycling and winter mountaineering.

HPPE

This lightweight fabric is made from 88% recycled nylon and 12% high-strength polyethylene (HPPE) ripstop. While a tear strength of 10 Newtons (N) is generally considered sufficient for 20 denier fabric, this material achieves a tear strength of over 40N. High-strength polyethylene is extremely difficult to manufacture, and while it was clear that its use could result in a high-strength fabric, commercialization proved extremely difficult. This season's new Rock Jacket is the result of Teton Bros.' early adoption of HPPE, a material perfected by a Japanese fabric manufacturer after much trial and error.
